PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

Mix together and set aside: Cream together:
2 1/2  cups of flour 1  cup shortening
1         teaspoon of baking powder 1  cup chunky peanut butter
1 1/2   teaspoon of baking soda 1  cup sugar
1/2      teaspoon salt 1  cup brown sugar
2  eggs
Add dry ingredients to peanut butter ingredients and mix well.  Shape into 1 inch balls (you may have to refrigerate for about 30 minutes before shaping into balls).  Place the balls on a cookie sheet and flatten with fingers.  Then score each cookie with a fork dipped in cold water.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes depending on your oven.  Yield:  about 9 dozen cookies.
