
MOLASSES RAISIN COOKIES

| 3/4 cup shortening | 1 teaspoon ginger |
| 1/4 cup packed brown sugar | 1 teaspoon cinnamon |
| 1/4 cup molasses | 1/2 teaspoon salt |
| 2 eggs | 1/2 teaspoon cloves |
| 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour | 1/2 cup raisins |
| 1 teaspoon baking soda | 1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
| In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening and brown sugar. Beat in molasses. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt and cloves - gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minuets or until edges are slightly browned. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen. | |
